"My previous rugs were of food motifs. I was drawn to their very graphic style and the color relationships that came out during their process. This time I wanted to take that graphic style and create a sinuous pattern that also created negative spaces that would help one's eye to flow gracefully around the design and become part of the motif. I tried to accomplish this by repeating colors and graphic motifs and by placing these at strategic intervals within the design."
