"I love BIG rugs, and this is the largest one I’ve done. Mary Bower and I had both completed the same pattern and at our teacher Meredith LeBeau’s insistence submitted our rugs to Celebration #1. We both made the edition, but Mary’s was on the front cover! Oh, well! I loved the myriad of woodland flowers and leaves on the dark, woodsy brown background. It was printed on old but decent burlap, all that was available in the '80s, and came in 2 pieces which had to be sewn together and then hooked. My hand aches just thinking about hooking through 2 sewn together selvages of burlap! It won an award in a local art show and the front page of the Beverly (MA) Times, and graced our family room floor for years."
