I have long wanted to design a rug with a wild turkey on it. Turkeys have a charm and quirkiness of their own. I’ve often seen a flock making a single-file sprint across the road near my neighborhood. They are beautiful in their own way—except for their heads. My goal was to draw a pattern that was not too complex, but I did not want a cartoon version of a turkey. Here is my interpretation of a somewhat realistic yet simplified wild turkey crossing a cornfield.
