Carnival Ladies, Mermaids, and Fairies
Hooking whimsical creations with ribbons--colorful, creative, and appealing

It all started with a call for submissions for an exhibition in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The theme was "Just for Fun," and the goal was to use unusual materials for any particular craft.
The first thought that came to my mind was, "What unusual materials could I incorporate into rug hooking?" Machine and hand-spun yarn, fancy yarns, cut wool, cut fabric, panty hose, roving—what else could I possibly use? Maybe ribbons?
