Easy Hooked Pillow... Really!

Some years ago, my oldest daughter announced that she’d like to take a hooking project with her during her semester abroad in London. She said it would remind her of home and give her something to do between classes and homework. Naturally I was delighted, as rug hooking is near and dear to my heart. We searched through the old stamping block designs that belonged to my great-grandmother and settled on one for the center motif and border. I worked to connect the lines symmetrically and artistically, and then we named the pattern London.

Recently I came across London again and decided to develop the pattern into a hooked pillowtop. The pillow measures 16" x 16". The design was easy to trace on a piece of linen, and the hooking was fun and fast using #6-cut strips from my basket of leftover noodles.

Once the hooking was finished, I decided to make it into a pillow. Here’s the super-simple method I used to attach the hooked piece to a pre-made pillow.
