Frame Your Hooking as Art
When I met my future husband, Daniel, a long time ago now, he liked to dabble with wood. He owned a set of fine chisels, and he even carved a few birds for me. After we were married, though, that hobby dried up and with homeownership he reluctantly turned to interminable renovations and handiwork. When I began hooking, I tried different ways to hang my art-with mixed success. Framing was a logical solution that rejuvenated Daniel’s interest in woodworking, and it is fair to say that since then, we have tried many new ideas together. In this series of three articles, I have invited Daniel to share his thoughts with you on framing hooked art, including why to do it, how to design a frame, and his tips.
