From the very first days of the nation’s history, the eagle has soared as our most popular emblem of virility, pride, strength, and majesty. The folk art of the young country, blending wit the creative spirit of colonial America, took on a fresh new outlook, however, with the adoption of the American eagle as the national symbol of the United States of America on its handsome Great Seal.
