Beyond Our Borders: A needle felted project for summer
Fiber artist Neysa Russo has a new book! Just released, Needle Felted Tapestries is an appealing guide to the world of needle felting. Along with step-by-step instructions on how to construct wet felt and dry felt, the book presents 16 projects from Neysa’s creative needles. Her designs, many inspired by her love of medieval art, are wonderfully adaptable to rug hooking. We are pleased that she shared one of the projects from her book with RHM.
The flower coaster is a simple project to get you started with tapestry needle felting. You will learn how to use the needles and experiment with your own creative color arrangements. It will also introduce you to the technique of wet felting to finish the project. Wet felting will tighten the fibers of the needled design, turning it to felt.
