"This was an art nouveau design from a Dover Catalog. I loved the peacock perched in the center, high above all the swirling, curling foliage and the butterflies. The color plan ended up being worked out as we went along as I tried different transcolor swatches to gain the right effect. Our son has this as well hanging in a stairwell. Getting the peacock to show up against the backdrop was also a challenge. In giving the leaded glass effect to a piece, you hook that strip a little higher for emphasis so they tend to become wall hangings because they couldn’t withstand the wear."
- Carol Scherer, Celebration Hall of Fame 2018
