Sandra L. Brown admits that she's a nature lover at heart. While many may make that claim, Sandra likes to get up close to the wonders of the outdoors and see all the tiny details. She had always had an affinity for nature's intricate patterns and, for the over 24 years that she has been hooking rugs, she has explored leaves, bird wings, fish skins, and bark. But it has always been the sycamore tree and its cousin, the English plan tree, which intrigued her. "They have the most interesting and colorful barks imaginable," she says. "This is part of a series of sycamore pieces that I am hooking, each showing the tree at different seasons with different coloration.
