Our granddaughter was 10 years old when she said she wanted me to hook a Peace rug. I was visiting Arizona and came across the Peace Wall. I decided that was the rug I wanted to do.
Years ago, I contacted John Charley, who was with the Bisbee, Arizona, City Council, and he mentioned that the owners of the wall paid the artist, Rose Johnson, to paint the mural. Johnson is deceased. The current owner of the property where the wall is located is Jen Casale. I have an email stating that I have her permission to use the original mural, stating that Rose Johnson is the original artist. Jen considers herself as the caretaker of the Peace Wall.
