"I loved this hooking and to this day regret having sold it. This was the first of a series of hookings I did of the wild horses on Sable Island. Zoe Lucas (Green Horse Society) had a treasure trove of photos she had taken over her years on Sable Island. Zoe has allowed me to work from these images, and these are some of my favourite hookings. This one in particular was a thrill to hook. Figuring out the reflection of the horse was a satisfying challenge. I wasnt sure if using yarn for the grasses would work. At the time, I was starting to do mixed medium hookings, so I gave it a try and I was pleased with the effect."
