Dyeing Wool with Snow?

Making the most of a fresh-fallen snow

While we all know that a good fresh snow is great to clean our hooked rugs, did you know that it is a fun and funky way to dye wool?

In this article, I outline two dyeing methods. This is not an exact science, but it is another way to enjoy the cold snowy days of winter, by diving into the dye pots for a bit of unexpected fun.

First, you need fresh snow! A wet, heavy snow can wreak havoc on our power lines, but it is great for dyeing. The fluffy dry snow does not work as well as it has less water content.
