Halloween Nesting Dolls

Lets Have Some Three-dimensional Fun!

By: Carol Koerner
Halloween Nesting Dolls

The never-ending pandemic seemed to be the perfect time to hook something silly and fun. Halloween nesting dolls were just the thing for me, and since fall is my favorite time of year, they are happy dolls

This is the fourth set of dolls I’ve hooked but only the second set in which the dolls truly nest inside one another. My first dolls were a bride and groom done in 2005. The second in 2006 was a set of three traditional matryoshka dolls; they did not nest either. In 2016 I finally figured out how to make the dolls fit inside each other the way the famous Russian matryoshkas do. So I made my Russian Winter nesting dolls. I decided that whenever I need to work on something whimsical, I would add a different holiday or specialty set. The possibilities are endless. Consider Easter and Thanksgiving—what fun those would be!
