A Family, a Summer Day, a Rug

One hot day in July 2016, I stopped in to visit my parents at the homestead where I was raised. I found them in their vegetable garden, each straddling a row of beans. I was especially surprised to see Mom out there as she had a walking cast on her left foot. She had broken it a few weeks before and was still using a cane to get around. They hadn’t heard my car come in their driveway so they were unaware they had a visitor. When I saw them, I knew I had to get a photo.
