"I am an avid gardener and have an affinity for poppies, planting a new variety each year, so no surprise that in my collection of old Heirloom Patterns, Poppy Seed was on my short list to do. Again, Nancy Blood color planned the rug for MD Shores and during that week we concentrated on 'ruffles and pleats.' When the rug was almost complete, a friend looked at it and asked 'where are the poppy seeds?' I was at a loss and finally realized that several of my 'buds' actually had been seeds. I had a bit of 'rethinking' (a more pleasant euphemism for ripping out) to do! Rug hooking like painting always has something new to teach us, and I have been blessed to have found especially Meredith LeBeau and Nancy Blood as well as all of the teachers at the Northern McGown Teacher’s Workshop who taught me so much that I could pass along to my students."
