"When my daughter moved to Santa Monica, California, for 16 months, we were delighted to visit often. One of our favorite places was the famous Pier with its historic Carousel. It has been restored to its original details and beautiful artwork. My husband photographed me holding our grandchild, Rosalie, on it. That is the pose that I chose for my hooking.
There were lots of fun elements to hook, and I relished using all kinds of different materials to make it shine. Beads and sequins made the lights, ribbon the mirrors, gold yarns the poles, shiny fabrics and bright wool strips for the horses. I worked on this hooking for two sessions at the 'Rugs By the Sea' at Cape May, New Jersey, with our teacher, Abby Vakay. Everyone in the class shared their supplies, making for a rich experience."
