"My granddaughter had a poster of Sunday Afternoon on her bedroom wall; and, since I enjoyed hooking Monet's Wild Poppies so much, I decided to take on the challenge of Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Grande Jatte. The most challenging part of this rug was incorporating the more than 50 people, animals, and objects from the original painting. Sometimes this required just a few loops of color in the right place. It was important to capture a snapshot of the activity of that sunny afternoon. I sold Sunday Afternoon and several of my other rugs to a school teacher from New Jersey. Sometimes I wish I hadn't sold this special rug, but I know it has a wonderful home."
