"Bucknam Benson’s house belonged to my great-great-grandfather. It is at Seal Cove on Grand Manan Island. It is the house that my grandmother, Wealtha Irene Benson, was born and brought up in. It is the house where her brother, Alfred, died of diphtheria at age 15. We saw this house when it was for sale. It had a lovely pantry, but the foundation walls were crumbling. It is built on part of the Caleb Benson’s original 100-acre grant. The house is still there today on Red Point Road. It has a wonderful view of the sea."
