"I began this piece following the death of my mother-in-law who was my inspiration and mentor for rug hooking. I was able to incorporate all of the bright and non-traditional colours that I love. How exciting to receive my copy in the mail and find her on the cover! It still brings me joy when I look at it. I am always gratified when I receive feedback and interest in the pattern. Dip-dyeing the glow around her and whipping the many colours framing it were my challenge."
