Marketing 101
Starting and marketing your arts and crafts business
Getting people to find you has become much easier with technology. Sites like Etsy, eBay, ArtFire, DaWanda, and Folksy (British designers) provide a platform for marketing your rugs, and digital technology has given artists the freedom and ability to sell their art to a global audience. Sounds really fascinating, right? There’s a catch, though: people have to find you. Signing up with a marketplace, developing your website, blogging, exhibiting at a gallery, hooking with guild hookins, teaching classes, or participating in rug hooking shows are all ways to market yourself and your business. Pick one, two, or all of them.
