"This rug developed from a simple Halloween concept to a complex, large rug of many different Halloween motifs. Color choices were challenging. With all the gray in a dozen tombstones, the stone wall was done in browns and the trees and dirt road were done in gray/brown tones. With cool colors in sky, tombstones, and clothing, brighter colors were used in the headless horseman's clothing. Four tombstones hold initials of departed family and good friends, including one Montana rug hooker. I particularly enjoyed finding and adapting an image of a mysterious hand creeping out of the ground near the cat."
