"This piece hangs in my African-inspired living room. The image was used with permission from photographer David Brownell. I had never previously hooked a sunset or a tree in silhouette. Using so many values of the same colors to ensure subtle transitions of color was very time consuming and ultimately, probably the biggest challenge. Patience and the thrill of seeing the piece come into existence were both part of meeting the challenge of hooking this rug. I hooked it under the guidance and support of Diane Stoffel with up to 12 values of each color of custom dyed wool from Gene Shepherd."
