"This commercial pattern is entitled Bijou. I started this piece under the expert guidance of Elizabeth Black at Cambria Pines Rug Camp. With both faces completed, I went on to finish both animals, the crown, the velvet jacket and mirror on my own. I was then faced with a daunting challenge--the background. I tried everything from celery to navy blue to aubergine. Nothing worked. Renowned teacher Diane Stoffel came to my rescue. She married many of the colors I had already used to create the beautiful, subtly colorful background. This piece hangs in the entry of my home."
