"This rug was designed and hooked for a new book by Tamara Pavich. She asked for rugs of self expression. I designed this rug to hopefully express my love of genealogy by looking at a photo of myself as a child feeding triplet orphaned lambs. The 100% wool is both new and repurposed, and I dyed most of it myself. I had trouble hooking my hand, and had to redo it several times. The photo is actually a picture printed on cloth. I simply sewed it to the rug-warp backing, adding a layer of polyester under it, so the picture was the same height as the rest of the loops, and then proceeded to hook as usual around the photo."
