"My favorite period in art history is the Impressionist Period. I am fascinated with the artists and the way they captured their subjects. It seemed fitting that my next rug would be Claude Monet's Wild Poppies. While it appears to be a simple rug with a simple subject, it was quite challenging to hook. I had never attempted to hook a sky before and certainly never hooked a landscape. Capturing the movement of the terrain and the woman's dress flowing as she walked was important. I still love the simplicity of it. My success with this rug encouraged me to hook other impressionist masterpieces."
