"This is inspired by the words to the song 'The Old Oaken Bucket' by George Kiellmark, which my grandmother used to sing to me: 'How dear to my heart are the scenes of my childhood.' This is the view from the front porch of my cottage, where my children and grandchildren have many happy memories of their childhood. It has many novelty yarns and embellishments, such as a French beaded dragonfly, as well as a braided border and embroidered label. Great attention was paid to the value masses in order to augment the drama, putting more emotion into the piece."
