"Mary Rose is my mother at age 5. The photo was taken in 1918. The I00% wool in Mom’s dress is white from Dorr Wool and is cut to 1/8” strips. I dyed most of the brown wool with black walnuts from my sister, and I dyed the pink parts with rose petals along with a little commercial dye. The most difficult part was making the daisies in the skirt. A suggestion from my daughter helped… I just made bullion knots made of wool for the petals and sewed them on in a circle and added a Waldoboro center."
