"In preparation for Caraway Rug School I selected another Jody Bergsma picture. Eagle Spirit Come…and Inspire Us to Fly was an obvious choice. I wanted to hook a piece with a southwest theme and also a message of strength; Eagle Spirit was a perfect choice. My teacher at the Caraway Rug School was Diane Stoffel, and she was a big help in capturing the intensity of the eagles' eyes. The feather(s) and background completed the picture. I think that most interesting part of Eagle Spirit is the movement of background and that there are several eagles, some realistic and others symbolic. I shared my completed rug with Jody, and she loved it. Her positive feedback encouraged me to use more of her artwork in the future."
