"This was my first rug hooked with Ellen Femiano. I was still new to hooking, so my main concern was the feathery leaves in the corners. I wanted them to look consistent so did them in quick succession. Ellen’s idea of removing the band behind the diamond-shaped spiraled ribbon was brilliant because it emphasized the spiral, which I loved. I love its light delicacy and graceful flow with the center and the border with its woven ribbon bands in and out. I was so surprised when it was selected for Celebration. It’s still one of my favorites and blends well with all the family heirlooms we have acquired."
